Agentic Engineering
DeckEdit is built with Agentic Engineering — the discipline Andrej Karpathy named in February 2026 for orchestrating AI coding agents under expert human direction.
Two veterans. 10+ shipped products. 1.15M+ files converted. We are living proof it works at production scale.
Vibe Coding is the on-ramp. Agentic Engineering is the craft.
Vibe Coding lets anyone prototype something by feel. Agentic Engineering is the disciplined practice that turns those prototypes into production systems: human-owned architecture, security, taste, and verification — with agents doing 99% of the typing under direct supervision. DeckEdit was built this way from the first commit.
The proof is in the public record
Every number below is independently verifiable in Google Search Console, public analytics, or by inspecting the live site.
- 43% — Google Search Console click-through rate. The web average is 3 to 5 percent. People do not just see DeckEdit, they click it.
- Position 4.2 — Average ranking across all indexed queries. Top of the first page, sustained, on a static budget.
- 1.15M+ — Files converted by users in the browser. Zero of them touched our servers. We literally cannot see the content.
- $0 — Spent on paid acquisition. No Google Ads, no influencer deals, no growth team. Pure organic.
- 1 — Engineer writing the code. The other co-founder runs the business. AI agents do the implementation under direct human supervision — the textbook Karpathy definition of Agentic Engineering. You don't need a team to ship.
The methodology
Agents implement. Veterans own architecture, security review, taste, and the call on what to ship. Every change goes through human-authored ADRs, a build-time verifier, and live-site smoke tests before it touches users. Not vibes. Not autopilot. Discipline plus delegation — exactly what Karpathy means by the engineering half of the term.

Your decks never disappear
Multi-deck storage is built on browser primitives most products don't even know exist. Switch tabs, kill the browser, come back a week later — your work is exactly where you left it. No cloud sync, no account, no "saving…" spinner.
Crawlers see real pages, not a JavaScript shell
Every public route ships with the right metadata baked in before it ever reaches a browser. Search engines and AI crawlers index us like a native static site, which is why our click-through rate sits near 43 percent instead of the web average of 3 to 5.
Edits never corrupt the original
The editor treats your source as immutable. What you export is a true reconstruction, not a destructive overwrite — which is why round-trips don't degrade and undo always works, no matter how many edits deep you go.
The browser does the heavy lifting, honestly
OCR runs on your GPU when your hardware supports it, and falls back to CPU when it doesn't — and the UI tells you which one it picked. No silent failures, no mystery slowness, no "why did this just crash." Honest feedback is part of the product.
Two veterans. Agents wrote the code. Veterans owned the architecture.
There is no growth team here. No funding round. No marketing budget. Just two operators practicing Agentic Engineering — and a small system, built with discipline, that real users found and kept using.
